Aioi

Aioi (Tsubetsu Town) is a road station on route 240, which runs between Kushiro and Abashiri. This road station resides on the former site of Kushiro Aioi Station, which was on a now demolished line, which saw its demise in 1985. It now houses a small railway-themed park, with railway cars at the former platform. The former building of the station has been converted to a cafe, which has preserved the original interior decor. Because of these quaint reminders, the spot attracts many railway fans. There is a shop selling local products such as tofu made from local soybeans. They also sell buckwheat noodles, fresh vegetables, as well as wood craft commodities.
