Jozankei Shrine

Jozankei Shrine (Jozankei Hot Springs) was established in 1905. Jozan Miizumi, who was a Buddhist priest who discovered the hot springs in 1866, has been deified equivalent to his peers. Free jazz music shows are held at this shrine in summer; and it is a part of Sapporo City Jazz Festival. In 2015, it was from July 16 to 20. In winter, a lot of ice candles are installed and they make a nice sight for visitors at night. This shrine is on the main road (Route 230), and it is opposite side of a group of onsen hotels. It's open 365 days a year.
