Poropinai

Poropinai(位於千歲市)是支笏湖的休閒娛樂景點之一。

Poropinai (Chitose City) is one of the free leisure spots on Lake Shikotsu. You are allowed to use fire there, so it is possible to enjoy barbecues at this spot for free. The waves on the lake are not high, and anyone can enjoy swimming or playing there. However, as there are no lifesavers, visitors need to be responsible for their own safety. In summer, there is a cafe selling food and drinks. The meaning of Poropinai is 'big dried-up valley' in the language of the Ainu, who are indigenous people of Hokkaido. This spot is only really accessible by car.
