Uryuu / Denen-no Sato Uryu

Denen-no Sato Uryu (Uryu Town) is a road station on route 275. There are two exhibition rooms there. One is Uryu-numa Shizen-kan, which focuses on Uryu Marsh, with many photos and information panels. Numa means marsh in English. The marsh land is the most well-known sightseeing spot in the town. The other is the gallery of Mr. Kyoun Tsujii, a famous calligrapher born in Uryu. As rice is grown there, it’s used in the production of various local specialties. Kamaboko, which stands for boiled fish paste, and ice cream using rice are popular at the shop there. Denen-no Sato means pastoral countryside.
