Sakura Kouen (Cherry Blossom Park)

Sakura Kouen, which means Cherry Blossom Park in English, (Eniwa City) is just downstream from the Izarigawa Dam. In 1980, when construction of the dam was completed, the citizen's group of Eniwa started planning a project to plant cherry trees. In 1982, the project was carried out, resulting in the park becoming recognized as one of the best spots to see cherry blossoms in Eniwa. The area where Sakura Kouen is located is called Eniwa Valley; and there are three famous waterfalls there. There is also an artificial lake created by the dam, Lake Eniwa. It takes about 30 minutes by car from the center of the city.
