四季之館 / Shiki-no Yakata

Shiki-no Yakata (Mukawa Town) is a road station on route 275. It houses many facilities such as onsen baths for one-day visitors, a pool, a gym with training machines, and even a library. As such it assumes a role as a community center. Moreover, there is a special exhibition room for Mr. Akira Suzuki, who was born and raised in Mukawa, is a honorary professor of Hokkaido University, and received the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2010. As this town is famous for shishamo (smelt), there are some special dishes and products using shishamo at the restaurant or shop.
