Crawford公園 / Crawford Park

Crawford公園（位於三笠市）是利用昔日廢線的車站所建造的公園。昔日使用的鐵路車廂、月台、車站房舍的一部分被保留了下來。幌內線是北海道最初的鐵路，於1882年開始營運，連結著小樽市與三笠市。Crawford為美國的鐵路技師，對當時的北海道發展貢獻良多。公園入內參觀免費，輕軌小火車（需付費乘坐）也很有趣。

Crawford Park (Mikasa City) was built to restore the abandoned Mikasa Station on the Horonai Line. Visitors can see old, preserved train carriages, a platform and a part of the station building in a natural, green park setting. The Horonai Line was the first railway line in Hokkaido. It was built in 1882 to connect Mikasa and Otaru City; and was demolished in 1987. Mr. Crawford came from the USA as a railway engineer specialist and assisted in establishing the Horonai Line and Hokkaido's development. There's no admission fee for the park, and for a small fee visitors can enjoy railway truck as activity.

北海道大學 / Hokkaido University

北海道大學是北海道的最高學府，其前身為於1876年所創立的札幌農業學校。其校區雖然接近於JR札幌車站但所持有的腹地廣大。春天至秋天時邊觀察自然邊散步感覺非常舒暢。主要的景點為大野池、白楊林蔭道、花木園等。學生餐廳任何人皆可使用。在校園北端也有遊憩步道。（自然以外的景點會在別的篇幅介紹。）

Hokkaido University is the highest seat of learning in Hokkaido. Its former name is Sapporo Agricultural College, and was established in 1876. Hokkaido University is close to Sapporo Station (JR railway / subway) and downtown Sapporo, but it has a very large campus rich in nature. It is pleasant to stroll around viewing greenery from spring to autumn. Ono Pond, Poplar Avenue, Ginkgo Avenue and Flowering Shrub Garden are popular. There are a few school cafeterias and anyone can use them. There is a walking path which connects the northernmost area and its western area. (more information about Hokkaido University to follow)

家族遊樂園Mikasa / Family Land Mikasa-yuuen Park

家族遊樂園Mikasa(位於三笠市）是可親子同遊的公園。Zyabuzyabu水池（日語發音的「Zyabuzyabu」是比喻玩水時所發出的聲音）、巨型溜滑梯等設施受到孩子們的歡迎。烤肉設施也是免費使用的。5月到10月是前往遊玩的最佳時期，當地民眾前往遊玩的人很多。因為交通不便觀光客想去必須租車前往。也可付費玩小型賽車。

Family Land Mikasa-yuuen Park (Mikasa City) is a place which both adults and children can enjoy. Jyabu-jyabu Pond and the Jumbo Slide are especially popular with kids. Jyabu-jyabu is a sound that reminds Japanese of playing in shallow water. There are outdoor BBQ facilities at no-cost. The best season is from May to October because this park is the countryside and Mikasa is famous for a lot of snow in winter. Most visitors are local people but tourists can enjoy if they have a rental car. Go-karts are available for a fee, and they are heaps of fun.

三笠 /Mikasa

Mikasa Road Station on Route 12, 

三笠道路休息站（日文為「道の駅三笠」，位於三笠市，國道12號線路旁）內有展示鸚鵡螺的化石，除此之外還有展示古老的大型水車。水車小屋是免費入場參觀的，內部也有展示昔日人們生活上使用的工具。三笠市以發掘化石而聞名。三笠道路休息站則是北海道首次登記的道路休息站。在那裡也有溫泉設施（需付費）。

Mikasa Road Station exhibits some ammonite fossils and a large piece of coal. There is also an old, big water wheel next to its parking area. Old agricultural tools are exhibited inside this water wheel, and it is free to enter.  Mikasa City is well known as a place where fossils can be found. This city was developed around a coal mine in the middle of 19th century. It is in Mikasa that the first railway in Hokkaido started. Mikasa Road Station is the oldest road station in Hokkaido. There is also an onsen located there which comes at a small cost.

天神山綠地 / Tenjinyama Green Space

天神山綠地是以標高85m的天神山為中心的公園。山頂附近有展望廣場可瞭望藻岩山和札幌市區。天神山綠地是著名的賞梅與賞櫻景點，在春天時許多人會來訪。小歸小但是這裏也有日式庭園。也有被稱作藝術工作室的設施。離這裡最近的車站是地下鐵南北線的南平岸站或著是澄川站，徒步約15分鐘。

Tenjinyama Green Space is a park made up of Mt. Tenjin (Tenjin-yama in Japanese) which is 85 meters high. There is an observation spot near the top where visitors can get a good view of the city and Mt. Moiwa as well, which is taller than Mt. Tenjin. Tenjinyama Green Space is also known for its beautiful cherry blossoms and ume (Japanese apricot) blossoms in spring; so a lot of people visit here at this time. There is an interesting (but small) Japanese-style garden also. An art studio facility is also there. It takes about 15 minutes on foot from Minami-hiragishi Station or Sumikawa Station.

Sora-no Garden

Sora-no Garden（日文的Sora-no發音意謂著「天空的」意思）是位於ESTA商場頂樓可免費參觀的空中花園。開園時間為4月至11月為止（6、7、8月為10:00-20:00開放/6、7、8月以外的月份為10:00-18:00開放）花園內設有桌椅可供用餐休息。（草坪上禁止進入）因為沒有設立遮雨棚所以推薦於晴天時前往。

Sora-no Garden is located on the rooftop of the ESTA building, which is a shopping mall complex. "Sora-no" means "the sky's" in English. This roof garden is open from April to November; (10 a.m to 8 p.m from June - August; and 10 a.m to 6 p.m in April, May, September - November). There are tables with chairs beside flowers and a lawn. Visitors can bring food and beverages and enjoy them at the tables, but it is forbidden on the lawn. There is no shelter from the elements, so make sure you explore it on a nice day.

Candy Labo

Candy Labo是由以白色戀人巧克力餅而聞名的石屋製果來營運的糖果專門店。這裏可以透過玻璃窗觀看到師傅們使用加熱的糖來製作及設計各式仿佛藝術品般漂亮的糖果製作過程。在札幌市西區宮之澤的巧克力工廠與札幌市中心的地下步行空間（大通西四大樓地下）內都有店面。

Candy Labo is the name of a candy specialty shop managed by Ishiya Confectionary - which is famous for Shiroi Koibito (which translates to White Lover in English) chocolate cookies. Candy artisans make various beautiful candy products in front of people watching through an observation window. Heated candy is worked by artisans' hands to become exquisite candy products, which are  like art works. There are two shops in Sapporo; one in Chocolate Factory (Miyanosawa, Nishi Ward in Sapporo) and the other in the basement floor of Odori Nishi-4 Building (Sapporo Ekimae-dori Underground Walkway: Chi-ka-ho).

清酒博物館 / Sake Museum

清酒博物館是由北海道歷史最悠久的日本酒製造商-日本清酒所營運的。日本清酒的主打品牌是被稱作「千歲鶴」的清酒。雖然博物館的規模不大，除了展示製造商日本清酒的歷史和製酒工具之外也可以試喝。另外也可免費飲用從地下150公尺汲取上來，用來製酒的水。也可參觀工廠（只接受10名以上的團體，需事前預約）。

Sake Museum is managed by Hokkaido's oldest Japanese sake maker - Nippon Seishu. The company’s main brand is Chitose Zuru. ‘Chitose’ means 1000 years and ‘zuru’ means crane. The name actually refers to the red-crowned crane, which inhabits Hokkaido. This museum is not large, but they show their history and exhibit sake-making instruments. Visitors can also enjoy free tasting. Interestingly, water pumped up from 150 meters below the ground to be used in making their sake is pouring at a well-like facility and it's free. Anyone can visit their factory is but a reservation is necessary for groups larger than 10 people.

清華亭 / Seikatei

清華亭是於1880年由當時的北海道政府所建來作為貴賓接待所。當時的建造地點是位於被稱作偕樂園的札幌第一座都市型公園之中。至今那個公園的一部分和清華亭一起被保留了下來。清華亭位於現今的北海道大學南側的住宅區之中，前往參觀時或許會有彷彿進了時光隧道的感覺。清華亭也被登錄為札幌市的有形文化財。

Seikatei was constructed in 1880 by the Hokkaido government. This house-like building was used as a reception room for distinguished guests. Interestingly, the situation in those days was very different from now. Seikatei was built in a big park called Kairakuen, which was Sapporo’s first urban park. However, we cannot see the park in its original size now. These days only a part of the park which houses Seikatei is preserved. People will feel as if they are stepping back in time when visiting Seikatai, because it is in the residential area of the southern part of Hokkaido University. The building is designated as one of Sapporo’s cultural properties.

ESTA大食品街 / ESTA Grand Food Shopping Area

ESTA是連結著札幌站（JR和地下鐵）的商場。ESTA大食品街（位於地下一樓）內有許多店家。中午時間許多店家都會販賣約日幣500圓左右經濟實惠的便當。販賣現場製作的甜點或熟食的店家也很多，光是在這裏逛逛就十分有趣。也設有美食街。

Sapporo ESTA is a shopping mall complex connected directly to Sapporo Station (JR railway and subway). There are a lot of food shops (confectionery, delicatessen, and fresh food) on the basement floor, called ESTA Grand Food Shopping Area. Around lunch time, most of the delicatessen shops sell bento box at reasonable prices - around 500 yen. As for confectionery or delicatessen shops - many of them make products in display kitchens in front of customers and sell  the products immediately upon being cooked. As it is like a food show, just watching them is also fun. There is a food court dining area as well.
