Sapporo Fushimi Inari Shrine (Sapporo City, Chuo-ku) was built in 1884 in celebration of an enshrined deity from the head Inari Shrine located in Kyoto Prefecture. In Japan, the Inari Shrine is credited with business prosperity and huge harvests. Its characteristic point is the torii gates built in a long line, creating a vermilion colored torii gate tunnel sensation. Sapporo Fushimi Inari Shrine has many torii gates leading toward the inner shrine building, although it is not as many torii gates as the head shrine in Kyoto. The succession of gates and straight path created makes for a solemn atmosphere.
