Sapporo Agricultural College Farm No.2

Sapporo Agricultural College Farm No.2 (Sapporo City Kita-ku) was established in 1876 and it was the model of a functional dairy farm in those days. In 1967, the farm’s buildings were moved to their present location on the campus of Hokkaido University (the former Sapporo Agricultural College). These agriculture-related buildings are now the oldest facilities in Hokkaido, but were at the forefront of science at that time. Agricultural tools and machines are also displayed with information provided on signs. This place is the birthplace of agriculture in Hokkaido, with Western-style agriculture spreading from here. Admission is free, and the facility is designated as important cultural property.
