貝殼廣場·港 / Shell Plaza Minato

貝殼廣場·港(位於蘭越町)是沿著日本海行駛的國道229號沿線上的道路休息站。緊鄰貝類的專門博物館「貝之館」(須另付費)。道路休息站的商店內有販賣在世界各地的海邊可以見到的貝殼。有用於飾品或室內裝潢用的加工過的貝殼製品。蘭越町山與海兩邊都有,在山區地帶農業也很興盛。在道路休息站可以享用到兩邊的特產品。

Shell Plaza Minato (Rankoshi Town) is a road station on route 229, which runs along the coast of the Sea of Japan. This road station is located next to the Shell Museum, Kai-no Yakata, which is a paid museum. This museum focuses on shells from all over the world; including rare shells, and some unique for their shapes. The road station shop sells accessories and ornaments made of shells, as well as local products. Rankoshi Town has both sea and mountain environs, resulting in a wide range of local specialties. Agricultural endeavors such as growing rice are predominant in the area.




北海道核電環境中心 / Hokkaido Nuclear Energy Environmental Reseach Center

北海道核電環境中心(位於共和町)是以北海道電力泊核電廠的周圍地區的環境保全為目的來行動的設施。實行周遭放射線的測量和監視。有面向一般訪客的公開展示室。是如同科學博物館般的地點,有說明何為放射線的展示物。也進行農業和水產業相關的試驗研究。由北海道廳總務部來營運。

Hokkaido Nuclear Energy Environmental Reseach Center (Kyowa Town) is responsible for the environmental conservation of areas surrounding the Tomari Nuclear Power Plant of Hokkaido Electric Power Co., Inc. The power plant is in Tomari Village, next to Kyowa Town. This center carries out monitoring of the level of radiation in the air. There is a room for public relations, which is like a science museum to teach about how nuclear power works, or what radiation in the natural environment is. It displays information panels and models to teach about the science of nuclear power. Moreover, this center is involved with research and developments regarding agriculture and fisheries. This center is managed by Hokkaido Government.

島牧認識館 / Shimamaki Shiroukan

島牧認識館(位於島牧村)是在道路休息站YOTTEKE島牧相鄰的設施,是介紹村內自然環境的設施。這裡展示著在1990年時由環境廳(現在的環境省)所發表的「日本的百選瀑布」中被選上的賀老的瀑布的四季照片。此外,有展示可以了解村內地形的模型、片栗花的照片、蘑菇和野生植物的標本。二樓有展望室。

Shimamaki Shiroukan (Shimamaki Village) is a small museum connected to the road station, Yotteke Shimamaki. Shimamaki Shiroukan literally means 'a museum to know about Shimamaki Village.' It features information about nature and the natural environment in the village. Garou Falls is the highlight of sightseeing there. It was selected as one of Japan’s top 100 Waterfalls in 1990, which was announced by the Ministry of Environment. Four photos of Garou Waterfalls taken in each season are on exhibit. Also, there is a big model to show the local geography, and specimens of wild mushrooms and wild edible plants. A big photo of a colony of dogtooth violet flowers welcomes visitors.







WithCommu

WithCommu(位於壽都町)是多用途設施,也有設置可以學習鄉鎮歷史的展示室。在如同博物館的這個地方展示著在鄉鎮內所挖掘到的數世紀前的土器、鯡魚業盛行時的生活道具,以及捕魚用的道具。WithCommu也有多用途大廳、圖書室、料理教室、以及會議室等,作為鄉鎮居民的文化活動據點而被使用著。

WithCommu (Suttsu Town) is a multiple use facility, which also houses exhibition rooms like those found in a small museum. It exhibits earthenware used some centuries ago discovered in the town, everyday goods or housewares from the era when the herring industry flourished, and fishing goods from said era. As WithCommu actually functions in the role of community center, it also houses a library, cooking room with cooking equipment, a meeting room and such. This is for people living in town, but the exhibition room is good to learn about changes of life style in history and geography.

Kabuto Line

從泊村、岩內町延伸到積丹町的神威岬的國道229號被稱作KABUTO Line。在懸崖和山脈與海岸線相連的地方建造道路,可以在海上享受兜風的樂趣。特別是在泊村的KABUTO岬一帶都是斷崖峭壁。其優美的風景被指定爲後志十景(後志為北海道的行政區之一)。是可看的北海道大自然之一。

The section of route 229 between Tomari Village, Iwanai Town and Cape Kamui in Shakotan Town is called the Kabuto Line. This section of the road runs along the bottom of the cliffs and steep hills facing the Sea of Japan. As such its construction was quite a feat. The Kabuto Line allows people to enjoy traveling by car through the beautiful landscapes of the coastline and the sea. Around Kabuto Rock in particular are steep cliffs. The Kabuto Line is designated as one of the top 10 scenic areas of Shiribeshi District. Visitors can assuredly admire one of the natural and unique vistas of Hokkaido.

四季之風 / Shikino-kaze

四季之風(位於余市町)是從道路休息站「Space Apple 余市」開始的休憩步道。是延伸到余市川的堤防上的小路,如同齊名依照季節不同可以觀賞到各式各樣的風景。春天時可以看到整排的櫻花樹和新綠的嫩葉。夏天時可以在綠色小徑上邊散步邊聆聽小鳥鳴叫。對旅行者而言好處是將車子停在道路休息站後,作為短暫休息時可以很輕鬆地散步。

Shikino-kaze (Yoichi Town) is a walking path starting from Space Apple Yoichi, which is the road station in the town. It is located on the banks of the Yoichi River. The name stands for Wind of Four Seasons in English. As this name suggests, visitors can see different views in each season. In spring, the highlight is cherry blossoms, and tender green after winter. In summer, visitors can enjoy walking while listening to birds’ song in the green of nature. This path may be good for travelers because they can park their cars at the road station and they can enjoy a short walk, relaxing after a time on the road.

YOTTEKE!島牧 / Yotteke Shimamaki

YOTTEKE!島牧(島牧村)是國道229號沿線上的道路休息站。是有山有海的村落的觀光據點。在餐廳可以享用日本海的新鮮海產。夏季時BBQ形式的餐廳很受歡迎。可以買材料後直接在現場烤來吃。雖然是小小的道路休息站,是從札幌通過日本海沿岸,南下前往包含函館的道南地區時的良好休息地點。

Yotteke Shimamaki (Shimamaki Village) is a road station on route 229. As this village features both sea and mountain, visitors can eat local specialties, a natural gift from the Sea of Japan, at the restaurant. In the summer period, diners can use BBQ cooking facilities to ensure they enjoy the fresh ingredients. Actually this is a small road station, but is a good place for drivers and their companies to have a rest when they are heading to the southern part of Japan, including Hakodate city, from Sapporo. 江之島海岸 / Enoshima Coast

江之島海岸有追分SORAN線的愛稱,位在沿著日本海海岸線行駛的國道229號線上。大部分的地形是一側是海邊,另一側是聳立的岩山。也有很多的隧道,雖然是典型的北海道日本海的海岸線,但這裡有如同隱居之家般的氣氛,晴天時優美的波浪輕撫於海岸。這裡並非沙岸而是由美麗的鵝卵石所構成的海灘。

Enoshima Coast (Shimamaki Village) is on Route 229, which runs along the coast of the Sea of Japan. This road has the nickname of Oiwake Soran Line. Historically, the coastline of the Sea of Japan in Hokkaido proved quite hard to construct a road on, as it consists of towering cliffs which run straight down to the sea. Oiwake Soran Line has many tunnels and there only a few places which are suitable for human settlement. Enoshima Coast is one of these, and on a fine day, visitors can feel relaxed in the calm sea air. The beach is not sandy, rather consists of pebbles.





MINATOMA~RE壽都 / Minatomare Suttsu

MINATOMARE壽都(壽都町)是緊鄰壽都漁港的道路休息站,可以瞭望整個漁港。國道229號線(又稱為追分SORANN線)就在附近,交通上也很便利。追分SORANN是當地的民謠。是由捕鯡魚的漁民所傳唱的。壽都周遭昔日也因為鯡魚漁業而發展起來。在商店使用於壽都所捕獲的海產品的加工食品很受歡迎。

Minatomare Suttsu (Suttsu Town) is a road station located next to Suttsu Fishery Port. Visitors can see the fishermen’s boats in front of the building. Access by car is easy, with Route 229 running not far from this road station. Route 229 is usually called Oiwake Soran Line (Oiwake stands for a folk song of Hokkaido sung by herring fishermen). The area around Suttsu along the Sea of Japan flourished through catching herring in days gone by. At the shop, there are a variety of seafood products caught or farmed in Suttsu. Many products use Suttsu's specialty, the Hokke (Atka mackerel.)
