北海道大學苫小牧研究林 / Hokkaido University’s Tomakomai Experimental Forest

北海道大學苫小牧研究林（位於苫小牧市）一部分開放給一般市民。地點雖然接近住宅區，但樹木生長茂密，也有河川和湖沼。這裡調查以及研究著在寒冷氣候下生長的森林中生態系吸收二氧化碳和釋放氧氣的學術研究。在步道旁會看到熊出沒注意的告示牌。雖然沒有很寬廣但也有停車場。

Hokkaido University’s Tomakomai Experimental Forest (Tomakomai City) is large. While most of it is closed for research and study, a part of it is open to the public. Although this forest borders residential areas, it's like a primitive forest. There are small, clean streams and marshes. The Field Science Center for the Northern Biosphere at the university manages this forest. They carry out the study of ecological systems in the cool climate of the northern hemisphere. Research on the amount of carbon dioxide absorption and oxygen output is important too. There is a path warning signs for bears wild bears are there.
