燒尻島 / Yagishiri Island

燒尻島（位於羽幌町）是一個小小的島，繞島一周約12公里。除了有環島一周約10公里的道路之外，也有中央橫貫道路。有可以租借腳踏車的店，所以可以使用腳踏車在島上移動，也可以使用觀光巴士。只要有約半天的時間即使悠閒的步行就可以走遍整個島。燒尻島因為受到了橫風的影響，主要的觀光景點是橫向生長的東北紅豆杉木以及薩福克種綿羊的牧場參觀。

Yagishiri Island is quite small, with a coastline of just 12 kms in length. There is a 10 km long circular ring road along the coastline. The road is somewhat hilly, but it’s still fun to assail using rental bikes from the port. Alternatively, joining the sightseeing bus tour is also a good option. Even walking, a half day would allow one to take in all the sightseeing spots. Yagishiri is famous for low standing Japanese yew trees, and a big sheep station. The yew trees have grown in some strange shapes, and are named by their particular shape - a crane, a turtle, and so on.
