The Flower Clock

The Flower Clock (Kushiro City) is located on a easy sloping bank in Nusamai Park. When walking from JR Kushiro Station to Nusamai Bridge, you will see the big clock in front of you. The clock looks down on the traffic circle, known as a roundabout in English. In Japan, roundabouts are rare. The Flower Clock is one of Kushiro's landmarks, as photos taken here are often used in travel guides. The flowers are changed four times a year, over the period starting in May and ending in November. Flowers such as pansies and chrysanthemums are used to match the season. The clock was constructed in 1980.
