Utonai湖 / Lake Utonai

Utonai湖（位於胆振地區苫小牧市）是日本最初的野鳥保護區（1979年）。目前確認有260種以上的鳥類棲息於此地。參觀免費的自然中心內有展示關於野鳥的各種資料。可以從遊憩步道觀察野鳥之外，聆聽鳥鳴聲也很有趣。這裏也以侯鳥的野雁、野鴨、天鵝的棲地而著名。

Lake Utonai (Tomakomai City in Iburi District) has a wild bird sanctuary which was designated in 1979 as Japan's first sanctuary. More than 260 species of wild birds have been identified at the sanctuary. At the Nature Center, where admission is free, visitors can learn about wild birds using various resources. There are seven walking path courses around the lake. People can enjoy bird watching and the singing of the birds. Lake Utonai is famous as a place where migratory birds like goose, duck and swan inhabit. In winter, it is easy to see birds as leaves fall down from trees leaving no cover.
