A Japanese elm tree

A Japanese elm tree in Toyokoro Town is acknowledged as the town symbol by residents; and the location is one of the most popular spots for photographers in Tokachi District. This elm tree is featured on their Country Sign board. The Country Sign is a kind of traffic sign to show which city, town or village you have just entered. It is put at the boundaries of municipalities on main roads. Each municipality has its own design using its symbols. There is a house-like information center where visitors can have a rest  and see some photos of the elm tree.
