Yonemachi Furusato Kan

Yonemachi Furusato Kan (Kushiro City) is a historical museum in Kushiro and is located in front of Yonemachi Park. The area of Yonemachi is on a hill, and people can see the Pacific Ocean there. Yonemachi used to be the center of Kushiro's economy and was the busiest area. This museum is the oldest wooden structure in Kushiro. In 1900, Torazou Watanabe, a successful businessman, built it; Torazou ran a company trading seafood. There are many exhibits from which visitors can learn about Kushiro's economy at that time and people's lives.
