Meh Meh Land

Meh Meh Land (Chippubetsu Town) is a tourism and study facility which focuses on sheep. Meh meh is Japanese onomatopoeia of a sheep's voice. Chippubetsu Town used to have a thriving sheep industry, producing wool for clothing, and mutton or lamb to eat. They have several different specimens of a number of species of sheep, which they exhibit for free. They hold workshops in which visitors can make crafts using wool, which does have an admission fee. This activity is always on offer at the center. Furthermore, they preserve the Japanese crayfish, which is in danger of extinction. They exhibit them at an artificial outdoor water path.
