Pacific Music Festival
Pacific Music Festival (PMF；太平洋音樂節)是20世紀代表的作曲家·指揮家之一的雷納德·伯恩斯坦提倡設立，於1990年所開始的活動。在每年夏天的一個月期間，會在札幌舉辦。從世界各地選拔出年輕的音樂家由當時一流的音樂家來指導並且共同演出。今年是伯恩斯坦生誕100週年。雪祭期間會在大雪像前面舉辦音樂表演。
Legacy of Bernstein - The Pacific Music
Festival (PMF)
The PMF was established in Sapporo in 1990,
on the advice of Leonard Bernstein, a famed composer and conductor of the 20th
century. The festival, which stretches over a month every summer, has grown
into a notable event. Both young musicians invited from around the world, and
experienced musicians join together to create music. Through this opportunity,
the young musicians can be inspired by their more experienced mentors. This is
one of the main purposes of the PMF. 2018 is the 100th anniversary of
Bernstein’s birth. At this sculpture, various stage events are held at night to
tell the story of Bernstein’s wish.
The Sapporo Snow Festival 2018: Odori and
Susukino sites run from February 5 to February 12 and the Tsudome site runs
from February 1 to February 12.
