花魚(遠東多線魚)是居住在寒冷的海洋中,北海道內經常流通販賣的兩種花魚是真花魚和島花魚。花魚有豐富的油脂最常見的吃法是用火烤。不常以壽司或生魚片般的生吃。因為是不適合保鮮的魚類在日本本州很難吃得到。因此也有「去北海道想吃的魚類」的印象。是北海道受歡迎的海產類之一。
Hokke is a fish which lives in the cold
sea. In Hokkaido, Mabokke and Shimabokke are the most common of the Hokke family.
‘Ma’ means authentic and ‘shima’ means stripes. Hokke fillet is abundant in
fat, so grilling is a popular method of cooking, but it’s not so good raw, as
in sushi or sashimi. As Hokke tends to pass it’s best quickly; it’s not often
seen in markets in other parts of Japan. The people of Honshu often say “if I
visit Hokkaido, I want to eat Hokke.” Hokke is an icon of delicious seafood of
Hokkaido.
