Dandelions

Dandelions are one of the wild flowers which tell us that spring has come. Around Sapporo, they start blooming sometime around the end of April and the beginning of May. The dandelion is the most common wild plant, with flowers which are seen anywhere through Japan, in small vacant areas and community parks in residential areas. Some large, green, grass expanses in big parks are covered with dandelions' yellow flowers at their peak time. It’s like a yellow carpet. In the northern or eastern part of Hokkaido, the best season comes a little later due to the cooler climate.
