知床森林生態系保全中心 / Shiretoko Forest Ecosystem Preservation Center

知床森林生態系保全中心（位於斜里町）是北海道森林管理局的設施。對在2005年登錄為世界自然遺產的知床的森林進行調查和保全的活動。然而也開放給一般遊客，可以學習到以森林為主題的各式各樣的知識。也有木製的玩具和放滿許多木製小球的池子，小孩子也可以玩得很開心。

Shiretoko Forest Ecosystem Preservation Center (Shari Town) is a learning facility managed by the Hokkaido Regional Forest Office. They study Shiretoko Forest, which was designated as a World Natural Heritage site in 2005, and work on its preservation. They also provide fantastic ecological education activities for visitors to learn about the forest system. People can learn about the unique points of Shiretoko Forest. Moreover, there are wooden toys and a pool of hundreds of small, wooden balls. This center is fun for children, despite its small size. It is next to the Yuhidai Observation Deck, which provides people with a view of Shiretoko harbor.
