Notsuke Peninsula Nature Center (Betsukai Town), located at the tip of the peninsula, is great for visitors to learn about the penisula's unique geography, natural environment, and animal and plant life. Furthermore, this is the base to visit Todowara, which is the sightseeing highlight of the peninsula (30 minutes walk on the sand and wooden boardwalk from this center). Visitors can learn how Todowara was created (after land subsidence, seawater inundated the area and Todomatsu pine tree colony withered.) Also, in winter, this center is a base for off shore drift ice sightseeing. On the first floor, there is a shop and restaurant.
