Osukoi Kamoenai (Kamoenai Village) is a road station on route 229 which runs along the rocky coast facing the Sea of Japan. The front of the road station faces the shore, and behind it is just a cliff. This road station doesn't have a restaurant, but instead offers light meals such as rice balls or lunch boxes. When they sell out, they sell out. Interestingly, the shop sells takeaway live scallops. This road station closes for four months - from December to March. Osukoi is a type of voice that fishermen used to use when pulling in the herring nets many years ago.
