Irifune Park

Irifune Park (Tomakomai City) is a small park next to the city ferry terminal. Visitors can frequently see big ferries up close before they depart and disappear into the distance. This park allows people to take in a different view of the big ship’s stern. There are ferry routes between Tomakomai and Hachinohe (Aomori), Sendai (Miyagi), Oarai (Ibaraki), and Nagoya (Aichi). There is an observation mound in the park with a design of Mt. Tarumae as the motif. One side of the mound is concreted with a relief of ice hockey players, as ice hockey is popular in Tomakomai. This spot is also popular for fishing.
